It all sounds comforting. I also have several spots in my house that remind me to calm down.
In my little Home Base, the prayer corner has its centering function and the reading corner (aka recliner) has its. A goal for the year ahead is to have a quiet spot on the back patio. Landlord should be finished putting the floor on my upstairs neighbour's balcony, before long.
