I have also long doubted myself, and have made up my mind to go forward and do my level best, anyway. My late wife was a diligent worker and professional, who never quite believed in herself, either. I think it comes from a combination of wanting to be perfect (never going to happen) and being constantly chastised by other imperfect humans, like parents, siblings and peers, sometimes for the least little infraction. I go on anyway, with yesterday's work assignment- "You are to cover a Music class, rather than your usual Special Needs group"-a prime example. It turned out well, because I could not disappoint the children, by flailing and flinching.
