Ten Comandments of Ghostwriting
1. While the client auditions you, you audition your client.
It’s a two way street.
2. Never show signs of weakness.
Acting as if you know what you're doing will comfort the client.
3. Look your client directly in the eye during interviews.
Never let your attention stray.
4. Refrain from blaming someone else if you feel invisible or undervalued.
You know what you signed on for.
5. Check your recording devices and backups so you don’t miss anything.
Losing material is an embarrassment and a huge setback.
6. Don't wait for inspiration.
Begin to write and let inspiration find you.
7. When you disagree with a client, yield.
You can always go back and change things later.
8. Always meet your deadlines.
Submit the material in a timely fashion.
9. Never lose your temper in the presence of your client.
You need to be solid and focused so your client feels secure.
10. Never discuss another client with your present one.
They need to feel like no one else exists.
