When I was a teen, my parents, who were madly in love even after twenty years, told me that each of them felt lonely at times, and it was because no one person can totally understand another. I have had my share of lonesomeness, and have made my peace with it, yet when the woman I love intensely told me that she was struggling with loneliness, I wanted to rush to her side-even though she lives on the other side of the Pacific Ocean. She, too, is making accommodations, and will be okay until we can see each other again-and even then, there will be bots of lonesomeness. It'll be okay.
