When I walk at a nearby park, I see children in strollers staring at cell phones and iPads. I wasn’t born with an iPhone in my hand. I’m a member of the “in between” generation. As a child, we didn't have answering machines, cell phones or computers. I’m really dating myself when I admit to remembering what we called “party lines.” We actually shared a phone number with someone else and we could eavesdrop on each other’s conversations.
Oh my goodness. I am right there with you. I feel I was born between the old and the new. I thought Selectric typewriters were amazing because I could backspace and correct a misspelling.
I feel a dinosaur with all the technology that has grown through the decades. Yet I am open to learning and am grateful for your post.
OMG I can SO relate!!! LOL. I call my son in college my "IT" person. He is very patient with me thank goodness. I am at the same stage as you are ~I fumble, look it up on "google", cry and sometimes get it, sometimes I don't. But I have to admit, when I do get it I am so proud of myself and feel like a goddess of technology.🧚♀️. Rock on sister.
"What, no carbon paper? No typewriter ribbons? No Ipana toothpaste., Luster Cream Shampoo, Glamorene carpet cleaner, ZaRex syrup, Clarabelle the Clown? " Goodness, whatever have we done without the trappings of a '50s- '60s childhood?
I am in fact blissfully grateful at a good deal of the digitization and other electronic advances of the past twenty years, though I remain partial to actual instruments being used in musical performances. It's a fine life and getting better all the time-with each new skill that I pick up, largely on my own.
It's harder for us. But we have to keep trying.
I alway have some catching up to do. Have to talk to myself to calm down.
Thanks Donna
I get that. But when we're on out own, we have to try harder.
And the list goes on
So glad it resonates.
Lovely, and so true!!

Agree 100% but sometimes there just isn’t anyone to ask for help. That’s when I get frustrated with it all!
